- In the movies defense I will have to say it kept the premise and spirit of the original far better than any remake since.
Especially Battlestar Galactica which may as well have been named something different.
- I think there was considerable merit to be found in both versions.
I enjoyed Gary Oldman's version sf Smith as well, for different reasons than I like Harris. In fact Oldman DID work in nuances of Harris' version as well.
There's room in my heart for both.
- There was an episide where they located earth and they were going to head back home but Dr. Smith did something to foul that up and they ended up changing course and remained lost in space.
- first landed on earth in 97'
